A $3 Mistake

A $3 Mistake

I just got back from dropping my sister off at the airport. It was wonderful to have her here for the holiday weekend and she was delighted to get to play with her niece.

Sadly, I didn’t have good timing today and Bella was just getting hungry as we were rushing into the car to get to the airport. She started crying before we reached the airport and continued to wail as I dropped Theresa off and pulled away. Perhaps it was the crying that made me a bit frazzled so that I somehow missed the signs for my exit.

Next thing I knew I was on a ramp going into Boston and there was no where to pull off and turn around. I found myself funnled into a toll lane and explaining to the attendant that I’d intended to be going the other direction and had no money for the tolls. He had no mercy and there was no place to turn around so I dug around in my wallet and found $3 worth of change. Then had to go all the way into the city before I could turn myself back around. And Bella screaming at the top of her lungs the whole time.

Fortunately she eventually cried herself to sleep because it was a very long detour indeed.

Now I think I need a nap!

  • thank you for the tips.  I’m trying to introduce my 7-years-old kid to Latin.  I put him and his brother to sleep every night to the Pange Lingua Mass sung in Latin.  He now wants to understand what monks are praying in Latin.

    Glad you found it useful.

Good idea. I discovered a desire to learn Latin when my parents took me to Rome when I was 13. I really wanted to know what all the inscriptions said on the churches and monuments. And a mass at St. Peter’s with Latin hymns and prayers was very inspiring as well.
